Infineon’s EASY 21553 INCA-IP Evaluation/Demo System features a single-chip IP-Phone solution with an internal 3-port Ethernet Switch, Analog Front End (AFE), DSP with full duplex hands free speaking, and a 32-bit MIPS 4Kc CPU.
The EASY 21553 is a versatile tool designed for system developers to learn and to evaluate the high performance functions of the INCA-IP.
The AFE circuitry on board connects the handset, headset and acoustic box. The Ethernet Switch interface circuitry, SDRAM and FLASH memory are installed and all interfaces and I/O ports are accessible. LEDs, keypad and LCD display are also resident on the board. The powerful Windows®-based WinEASY application software supports register programming, message editing for DSP control, track file recording, direct memory access and a parameter plot feature. Using Infineon’s EASY 21553, system designers can reduce development cycles for advanced IP-Phone applications.

Featuring built-in flexibility, the Easy 21553 MIPS 4Kc startup configuration can be set to FTP Server, Flash or EEPROM boot.
The on-board LEDs and keypad together with the LCD display represent the IP-Phone user interface. The Easy 21553 also includes a number of jumpers and connection points for flexible configurations and
measurements. For example, the AFE interface can be disconnected from the analog glue circuitry. Additionally, on-board interfaces are accessible at various connectors including the Asynchronous/Synchronous Serial Channel (ASC) through the RS232 driver, two Synchronous Serial
Controllers (SSC1/2), the I2C Bus and the IOM-2 interface. The 10/100Base-T Ethernet Switch interface circuitry supports Power over LAN according to IEEE 802.3af. The AutoMDIX circuitry enables detection of straight or crossed cable, and an external PHY can be connected to the RMII interface.

The EASY 21553 includes Board Support Packages for Linux® and for VxWorks®, and provide drivers and API functions for the INCA-IP hardware modules.
The DSP firmware included in the Easy 21553 system, enables complete Codec functionality for G.711, a&μ Law, G.723.1, G.722 and G.729a/b. Support for full duplex hands free speaking is also implemented. The WinEASY Application Software is used to control the INCA-IP Evaluation System. The Register Explorer, DSP Message Editor and DSP Firmware Download feature give users complete control over INCA-IP functions. The EASY 21553 package also includes a complete IP-Phone solution with the relevant VoIP stacks as a demo version. This software solution can be licensed from Jungo.
